The country is gradually emerging from quarantine and this is a good opportunity to analyze how viewers have behaved for more than two months.
If we analyze the dynamics of general television viewing since the beginning of the year, it is easy to see a significant increase in TVR% during April - May 2020. In April, the average coverage by day has increased to 32.9% and reached a maximum with 34.9% in May. That is, every day during the quarantine IPTV/OTT-services were used by more viewers than even in winter. At the same time, on average scale, viewers has been spending 30 minutes more watching TV than in January-March 2020.
In addition to quarantine restrictions in May, the weather has also played a huge role - rain and low temperatures encouraged the audience to spend more time at home.
As of the end of May, there were more than 360.9 thousand active households in the panel. Also in May, the highest average coverage per day was recorded (34.9%), with a slight subsidence of the average viewing time (from 5 hours 12 minutes to 5 hours 3 minutes).

Channel groups by genre (type)
In May, the group of general viewing channels has significantly increased its performance (growth by 1.03 percentage points to 59.72%). A group of children's channels, which share of viewing was 7.69%, that is 0.14 percentage points higher than in April, ranked second. The share of viewing for the group of entertainment channels in third place, on the contrary, has “slipped” slightly (a decrease of 0.36 percentage points to 7.37%). It also shows a decrease in the viewing share of the group of movie channels (a decrease by 0.48 percentage points to 6.67% in May), but the group remains in fourth place. Fifth place is occupied by a group of news channels, which share of viewing fell by 0.52 percentage points down to 5.45%. The group of documentary channels (the share of viewing decreased by 0.27 percentage points), ranks sixth with a rate of 4.94%. In seventh place was a group of channels demonstarting with a total viewing share of 3.09% (unchanged). The group of sports channels was able to significantly increase the share of viewing in May (an increase of 0.70 percentage points compared to the previous month), but still ranks eighth with a share of viewing 2.64%. The group of music channels (the share of viewing in May increased by only 0.03 percentage points and amounted to 1.57%) holds the ninth place.
General viewing channels
In May, 1 + 1 channel has lost the first place to “Ukraina” channel. “Ukraina” channel, the share of viewing was 11.37% in May (an increase of 0.63 percentage points), and 1 + 1 - 11.18% (a decrease of 1.13 percentage points). 1+1 channel has generated 458.9 thousand contacts, and “Ukraina” channel this figure mounted to 417.3 thousand. In third place was STB channel with a share of 9.17% (an increase of 0.29 percentage points and 460.2 thousand contacts). ICTV is in fourth place, adding 0.27 percentage points in May. (share of viewing 8.69%, number of contacts with the channel - 428.1 thousand). Novy Channel has increased by 0.41 percentage points share and ranks fifth (share of viewing 7.54%, generated 418.7 thousand contacts), while Inter remained in sixth place with 5.63% (the share of viewing has increased by 0.32 percentage points, generated 364.8 thousand contacts).
In total, the group of general viewing channels has gained 3.7 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in May.
On weekdays in May, 1 + 1 Channel continued to lead, but “Ukraina” Channel has significantly reduced the gap with the leader. STB channel continues to hold the third place.
Over the weekends, “Ukraina” Channel came out on top with a big gap, 1 + 1 on second. Third place held by ICTV.
Children's channels
The viewing share of Plus Plus has decreased by 0.05 percentage points. to the level of 2.55%, and the channel remains in first place, generating 148.3 thousand contacts in May. Nickelodeon (down 0.05 percentage points to 1.36%) came in second, while Cartoon Network (up 0.04 percentage points to 1.10%) came up in third. Nickelodeon has generated 60.4 thousand contacts, and Cartoon Network - 28.9 thousand. The fourth place is occupied by Pixel channel, which viewing share remained unchanged at 1.08%, and the number of contacts amounted to 124.5 thousand.
A total of 854.2 thousand contacts with households connected to the IPTV/OTT panel took place with children's channels in May.
Entertainment channels
TET channel leads the group, despite a slight decline in the share of viewing (a decrease of 0.38 percentage points to 3.08%) and gaining 318.9 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine in May. The average TET viewing time was 47.4 minutes in May.
The share of Indigo channel in second place fell by 0.10 percentage points. up to 0.80%. Mega channel has returned to the third place with a share of 0.62% (an increase of 0.04 percentage points). Indigo had 180.6 thousand contacts with viewers, Mega - 169.3 thousand. In fourth place stood OCE channel with a share of 0.61% (an increase of 0.07 percentage points), while Kvartal TV channel was located in fifth place (sagging share of revision by 0.07 percentage points to 0.56%)
In total, the group of entertainment channels has gained 1.64 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households during the month.
Movie channels
In May, the leading position was taken by TV 1000 East (share of viewing 1.59%, a decrease of 0.04 percentage points). A total of more than 229,000 unique households connected to IPTV/OTT platforms watched TV 1000 East for a month throughout Ukraine with an average viewing time of 53 minutes.
TV Action 1000 East channel with a rate of 1.15% (a decrease of 0.08 percentage points, the number of contacts - 171.6 thousand) took second place in the group. ViP Comedy channel rose to the third place in the group (the share of viewing was 0.68%, an increase of 0.06 percentage points), which was watched by 147.2 thousand households. Enter Film took the fourth place (share of viewing 0.58%, a decrease of 0.04 percentage points). FOX channel (the share of viewing decreased slightly by 0.02 percentage points to 0.46%) took fifth place in May, and channel's coverage was 73.3 thousand households.
In total, the group of movie channels has gained 1.7 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in May.
News channels
The first place continues to be held by “Ukraina 24”, which share of viewing decreased by 0.09 percentage points up to 1.39% in May (the channel received 281.2 thousand contacts and an average viewing time of 29.6 minutes). 112 Channel has reduced the share of viewing to 0.93%, which is 0.17 percentage points. below its result in April, and ranks second with 142.1 thousand contacts. The average viewing time was 39 minutes. The viewing share of PRYAMIY channel, which was in third place, stood for 0.04 percentage points. up to 0.88%. The channel received 136.8 thousand unique contacts in May. The fourth place on the News One channel - according to the results of May, its share of viewing was 0.63%, the number of contacts with the channel - 93.9 thousand. level of 0.36%), which generated 120.6 thousand contacts.
The total number of household IPTV/OTT contacts with news TV channels group throughout Ukraine amounted to 1.54 million in May.
Documentary channels

The History channel (0.57%, unchanged) is in fourth place, and the Viasat Nature CEE channel is in fifth place with 0.38%.
The average viewing time of the TV channels - leaders of the group in April was: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC -35.8 minutes, Viasat History -41.7 minutes, Viasat Explore CEE -39.3 minutes.
In total, the group of documentary channels has generated 1.85 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in May.
TV series channels
The group of channels demonstrating TV series is headed by NLO-TV channel, which has received a share of viewing of 1.59% in May (an increase of 0.01 percentage points) and generated 184.7 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households. In second place was BIGUDI channel, which viewing share fell slightly to 0.41%. Third place goes to Sony Entertainment Television channel with a viewing share of 0.33%.
In total, the group of channels demonstrating the TV series has gained 670.3 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine.
Sports channels
In May, football channels were able to improve their performance somewhat. Football2 took first place with a share of 0.93% (an increase of 0.29 percentage points), and Football1 (share of viewing 0.84%, an increase of 0.22 percentage points in May) was on second position. Football2 has received 163.9 thousand contacts, Football1 was watched by 160.5 thousand households. In third place with a share of viewing 0.34% was the channel Football3 (the share of viewing increased by 0.10 percentage points, the number of contacts with the channel - 97.4 thousand) The fourth place was taken by XSport channel with a viewing share of 0.16% and 105.3 thousand contacts. Eurosport 2 ranks fifth with a viewing share of 0.08% (an increase in the share of viewing by 0.02 percentage points).

Music channels
M1 ranks first - its share of viewing has decreased to 0.51%, in second place - M2 (the share of viewing increased by 0.02 percentage points to 0.29%). EU Music is in third place with a viewing share of 0.27%.

Regional channels
In May, “Channel Z” remained in first place among regional channels with a share of 0.132%. “KIEV” Channel, having received a viewing share of 0.085%, moved to third place. “Donbass” channel returned to the second place with a rate of 0.092%, and the 34th channel, which share of viewing has decreased to 0.070%, took the fourth place. In May, a group of regional channels has received more than 642,000 contacts with households
